Motor Fleet Insurance
Specialist Motor Fleet Cover
Protect your motor fleet with Acorn Insurance
Motor fleet insurance is suited to anyone who has more than 3 cars under one policy. Typically, this will be businesses such as haulage firms, car rental companies, courier organisations and any company that has a group of company-owned road vehicles.
Fleet Vehicle and Driver Flexibility
Acorn Insurance’s motor fleet insurance consists of a single policy with one renewal date. This makes it both easy to set up, and simple to maintain. This system provides enough flexibility for a number of different drivers to drive several vehicles. This type of cover is perfect for any business that employs staff who may need to drive any one of the business vehicles, at any point, during the working day.
A Fleet Policy To Fit Your Business
Our fleet policies provide the option for insuring mixed vehicles. This means that you can have any combination of cars, vans and plant & haulage vehicles covered simultaneously, as a group. This type of policy is more competitive than insuring drivers and vehicles on an individual basis and is a lot less hassle.
We offer our motor fleet insurance for any customer with a minimum of 3 vehicles within their taskforce, and it can be applied to any number in excess of this.
Goods in Transit Insurance
If you happen to be carrying goods in transit, these goods should also be covered as part of your insurance policy. Acorn Insurance offers this as a recommended, optional extra.
If you have a courier or delivery service, you need to make sure that you’re insured for any packages, parcels or valuable items that you’re transporting. Otherwise, if any goods are damaged in transit, or one of your vehicles get stolen, you will be held responsible. Refer to our courier van insurance page for more information.
It is important to remember to inform us of any valuables you might have in your vehicle. Any items omitted won’t be insured if the vehicle is damaged or stolen, meaning you could lose out financially.
Fleet Insurance Cover
As well as Acorn Insurance reducing the costs associated with your motor fleet insurance policy wherever possible, there are many practical tips and solutions available to bring costs down. Below is some guidance for companies, where fleet based costs and emissions are concerned.
Saving Money As a Motor Trader
The Department for Transport (DfT) provides funding for the Energy Saving Trust (EST), to give advice to organisations, to help them drive down any carbon emissions associated with business travel. By drawing up a personalised company plan to help you to minimise carbon emissions, you can reduce your business costs considerably.
This practical advice can be as simple as purchasing more efficient, low carbon fleet vehicles, to training employees to drive in a more eco-friendly manner. This type of driving improves fuel consumption, and is also known as smarter driving.
Companies with more than 50 fleet vehicles are eligible for a free onsite assessment called the green fleet review; this is conducted by a fleet management expert. For fleets of less than 50, you can get lots of helpful information through the EST website, or by giving them a call.
