How soon after an accident should you report a claim to Acorn?

Answer: Within 24 hours
You should report any accident, even if you were not at fault or if there was no damage to either vehicle, within 24 hours.

If you use your vehicle for commercial purposes, then you will need to report any accident to us within 24 hours or have to pay an additional excess for the late reporting of a claim.

What is the best way to report an accident to Acorn? 

Answer: Phone
It is recommended that all accidents should be reported via the phone through our dedicated 24-hour claims line. The number is 0345 092 0700.  

Do you need to report an accident to Acorn if it wasn’t your fault?  

Answer: Yes
All accidents, even if you were not at fault or if there was no damage to either vehicle should be reported within 24 hours after they happen.   

Should you report all types of accidents to Acorn? 

Answer: Yes
All types of accidents should be reported from minor scrapes to major crashesYou should also report any accident, even if you were not at fault or if there was no damage to either vehicle. 

In the event of an accident involving another vehicle what information should you exchange with the other driver? 

Answer: Name, address, phone number, vehicle registration
It’s important that you obtain as much information as possible from the driver of the other vehicle and take a picture of the vehicles involved. 

Prize Draw Terms & Conditions
  1. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to accept and be bound by the following rules. This promotion shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. The Prize Draw is being held by Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Ltd, 8 Liverpool Road, Formby, Liverpool, Merseyside, L37 6BS.
  2. To enter the Prize Draw, you will need to click the ‘Launch Survey’ button on the email, answer all of the survey questions, enter your first and last name, your email address and submit your entry.
  3. The Prize Draw is open from 00:01 on the 1st May 2024  to 23:59 on the 30th November 2024 to existing and previous Acorn customers that are based in the UK  and aged 18 and over only. You cannot enter if:
    • You are an employee of Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Ltd
    • You have been involved with arranging and/or running the Prize Draw
    • You are entering on behalf of someone else.
  4. The prize will be a £1,000 payment into your bank account via BACs transfer or a cheque will be issued and is non-transferrable. The £1,000 payment cannot be used in conjunction with any other Prize Draw.
  5. The Prize Draw will take place  during the week commencing Monday 2nd December to Friday 6th December 2024.
  6. One (1) winner will be selected at random  by computer software from all entries received. Only one entry per customer is permitted. Any multiple entries per customer will not be accepted.
  7. Entries received after 23:59 on 30th November 2024 will not be entered.
  8. The winner will be notified by email to the email address provided when they completed the survey . If we do not receive a reply within 30 days confirming acceptance of the prize, then we will reallocate the prize money to another winner selected at random.
  9. Acorn’s obligations are limited to making the Prize Draw available to participating customers and fulfilling the Prize. Acorn shall not be liable for any financial loss arising out of the refusal, cancellation, or withdrawal of the Prize Draw.
  10. By entering the Prize Draw Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Ltd will process your details entered at time of entry until the date of the Prize Draw. For more information about how we use your personal information, please view our Privacy Notice.
  11. We reserve the right to refuse participation in the Prize Draw if we identify any entrants have breached any of these terms and conditions.
  12. We reserve the right to cancel and/or withdraw the Prize Draw without giving notice.
  13. We will use your details for the purpose of administering the Prize Draw. Your details will never be passed onto any third parties. If you win the Prize Draw, we would like to publish your first name and county as the winner and use your information in any promotional activity and publicity only related to the draw. You have the right to object to both.
  14. Acorn is not responsible for any lost, indecipherable, or misdirected emails or for any failure of communication resulting from incorrectly supplied information.
  15. Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Ltd. reserves the right to amend or cancel the Prize Draw if necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Acorn shall have no liability for any delay and/or failure to perform any obligation to the customer that is caused by: (a) technical problems of any kind which may limit or prevent any person’s participation in the Prize Draw; (b) any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the allocation of the Prize Draw; (c ) any act or omission of any third party; or (d) any other events beyond Acorn’s control that may cause the Prize Draw to be disrupted or corrupted in any way.
  16. We will do our best to resolve any problems relating to the Prize Draw.
  17. Acorn reserves the right at any time in its sole discretion to cancel, modify or supersede the Prize Draw if it believes, in its sole discretion, that the Prize Draw is not capable or likely not to be capable of being conducted fairly or as specified within these terms and conditions due to events beyond its control (including, without limitation, a virus, a computer bug or unauthorised human intervention) or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Acorn that could corrupt or affect the administration, security or normal course of the Prize Draw.
